postmakr is neither a pure scheduling tool nor an AI image generator. Your AI creates, postmakr organizes and posts: it covers the path from idea to approved and published post. To do that, postmakr doesn't ship its own AI model but works via MCP with the AI subscription you already have. Your AI suggests ideas, team workspaces keep brands and people cleanly separated, and no post goes live without your approval.

## Where does postmakr come in?

Between an idea and a published post there are several steps: choosing a good topic, writing an opener, designing the post in the right format, reviewing it, publishing it and understanding afterwards what worked. Social media tools come in at different points along that chain.

### Compared with classic scheduling tools

Scheduling tools are mainly built to schedule and publish posts that already exist. postmakr comes in earlier, at the idea and the post itself: your AI suggests ideas and turns the ones you pick into the finished post, postmakr keeps everything together, and approval is a fixed step in the workflow.

### Compared with pure AI image generators

An AI image generator turns a text prompt into images. A social media post needs more than that: a topic that matters to your audience, a hook, copy for several slides, a format with clear dramaturgy and a style that fits your brand. That's why your AI builds posts along postmakr's format catalog (carousel, animated carousel, reel, story or sharepic) and your style guide, and your model uses similar posts from your archive as a reference.

## Why doesn't postmakr ship its own AI model?

postmakr connects via MCP (Model Context Protocol) to the model you're already paying for, such as Claude, GPT or Gemini. That way you don't pay for AI twice, your content runs through your own account, and you decide which model you trust.

postmakr never stores keys from your AI provider. The connection runs through an access key that belongs to exactly one workspace and can be revoked at any time. What postmakr contributes is the knowledge about your brand (style guide, format catalog, archive and learnings), plus 27 tools and guided flows from idea to approval. The [guide](https://postmakr.com/en/create-posts-with-ai) shows how to set up the connection.

## Where do the ideas come from?

The ideas come from your own AI, which knows your brand, your style guide and your learnings, and from you: you can add an idea yourself at any time. Each suggestion arrives not as a bare link but with a fully written hook and a format recommendation.

For every idea you decide: implement, keep or discard. Your AI builds the ones you implement. Analytics evaluate every published post, because which hooks pulled and where people dropped off flows back as learnings into the next ideas.

## Do I need the AI for every step?

No. You use your AI model for production, meaning the ideas, the copy and the slides. The dashboard, on the other hand, works without AI: there you see your drafts, approve them or send them back for revision, and the server takes care of rendering, whether you trigger it in the dashboard or your AI model triggers it via a tool. Everything created in your workspace belongs to you and can be exported at any time.

## Does anything go live without my approval?

No, that is the hardest rule in the system. Every post lands as a draft in the dashboard, even when your AI created it on its own from an idea, and only your approval makes it ready for publishing.

There's more to it than caution. AI-generated content can contain errors or inaccuracies, and you are responsible for any post you publish. That's why the review is a fixed step in the workflow that no post can skip.

## How do teams and agencies work with postmakr?

Every brand lives in its own workspace with its own style guide, archive and learnings, and the workspaces are strictly separated from each other. Within a workspace several people work together, each with their own login and their own AI account. Approval remains a separate, clearly defined step in the dashboard, and you decide as a team who takes it on. ## Frequently asked questions

### What is postmakr?

postmakr is a platform that organizes, approves and publishes social media posts for Instagram and TikTok. Your own AI model creates the posts in your workspace via MCP, and only what you approve in the dashboard goes live.

### Is postmakr a scheduling tool?

postmakr comes in earlier than a scheduling tool: it covers the path from idea to approved post, which means collecting ideas, keeping the posts your AI creates, reviewing them and approving them.

### Which AI models work with postmakr?

In principle any model whose client can connect to MCP servers, such as Claude, GPT or Gemini. There is a ready-made guide for Claude Code and Claude Desktop, and other clients connect via the address https://mcp.postmakr.com/mcp/.

### Does postmakr store my AI provider key?

No. postmakr never stores keys from your AI provider. The only thing stored is the workspace access key that you create yourself and can revoke at any time.

### Does postmakr publish posts without my consent?

No. Every post lands as a draft in the dashboard, and only your approval makes it ready for publishing.

### What does postmakr cost?

postmakr is free during the beta, and access is available on request. AI production runs on your existing subscription, so you don't pay for AI twice.

### Where is postmakr based and where is my data stored?

postmakr is based in Vienna, Austria. The platform runs on servers in Germany, with daily backups of all workspaces.
