You connect postmakr to Claude Desktop by adding a short entry to the app's configuration and restarting it. On first access you sign in once in the browser, then postmakr shows up in the tool list and Claude can build posts in your workspace that you approve in the dashboard.

## What do you need?

You need the Claude desktop app with your own Claude account, Node.js on your computer and postmakr access with a workspace that has been set up. Node.js is required because the connection runs through the small `mcp-remote` bridge, which Claude Desktop starts via `npx`.

## Step 1: Add the entry to the configuration

In Claude Desktop, open **Settings → Developer → Edit config** and add this entry:

```
{ "mcpServers": { "postmakr": { "command": "npx", "args": ["mcp-remote", "https://mcp.postmakr.com/mcp/"] } } }
```

If you already have other MCP servers listed there, add postmakr inside `mcpServers` next to the existing entries.

## Step 2: Restart the app and sign in via browser

Restart Claude Desktop. On first access your browser opens with the postmakr login, and signing in once is enough.

## Step 3: Get going

postmakr now shows up in the tool list. Tell Claude something like *"Suggest three ideas for my next posts."* or *"Build a carousel from the first idea."* Every post lands as a draft in the dashboard, and only what you approve goes live.

## What about claude.ai in the browser?

You can also add postmakr to claude.ai as a custom connector. All it needs is the address `https://mcp.postmakr.com/mcp/`, and sign-in happens via browser login just like in the desktop app. Whether custom connectors are available in your Claude account depends on your Claude plan.

## What if postmakr doesn't show up in the tool list?

Check whether Node.js is installed and whether the configuration is valid JSON, meaning all brackets and commas are in place. Then quit Claude Desktop completely and start the app again. If that doesn't help, write to us at [hello@postmakr.com](mailto:hello@postmakr.com).

## Frequently asked questions

### Why does Claude Desktop need Node.js for postmakr?

Because the connection runs through the mcp-remote bridge, which the app starts with npx. mcp-remote also takes care of the browser login.

### Do I need an API key?

No. Sign-in happens via browser login. Only clients that can't do browser login need an API key from the dashboard.

### What does it cost?

postmakr is free during the beta. For Claude Desktop you use your own Claude subscription, so you don't pay for AI twice.

## No access yet?

Enter your email address on the home page and we'll get back to you with your access and set up your workspace together with you. The beta is free.
