You connect postmakr to Claude Code with a single command in the terminal. On first access you sign in once in the browser, and from then on Claude can suggest ideas in your workspace, build posts and save them as drafts that you review and approve in the dashboard. You don't need an API key for this.

## What do you need?

You need Claude Code, Anthropic's command-line tool, with your own Claude account, and postmakr access with a workspace that has been set up. During the free beta, access is available on request via the [home page](https://postmakr.com/en/#contact).

## Step 1: Run the command

Open a terminal and run this command. It adds the postmakr server to Claude Code under the name postmakr, without you having to copy any credentials:

```
claude mcp add --transport http postmakr https://mcp.postmakr.com/mcp/
```

## Step 2: Sign in via browser

On first access to postmakr, your browser opens automatically with the postmakr login. You sign in, and the terminal remembers it, so signing in once is enough.

## Step 3: Get going

Tell Claude something like *"Suggest three ideas for my next posts."* Claude uses your workspace's tools for this and saves the suggestions as ideas. You decide on each one: implement, keep or discard. You then have a post built from an idea with *"Build a carousel from the first idea."*, or you start the guided ideas and `/create` flows. The final approval is always yours, in the dashboard.

## What can Claude do in your workspace afterwards?

Through the connection, Claude gets 27 tools, your brand context (style guide, format catalog, archive and learnings) and guided flows from idea to approval. In the dashboard, the activity section shows every tool call, so you can trace what Claude did in your workspace. The full list is in the [tool reference](https://postmakr.com/en/doku#tools).

## What if browser login isn't possible?

If browser login isn't possible in your environment, create a key in the dashboard under **Connection & API keys** and pass it as a header when adding the server:

```
claude mcp add --transport http postmakr https://mcp.postmakr.com/mcp/ --header "Authorization: Bearer fp_YOUR_KEY"
```

The key belongs to exactly one workspace and can be revoked at any time.

## Frequently asked questions

### Do I need a postmakr API key for Claude Code?

No. Sign-in happens via browser login. An API key is only needed if browser login isn't possible in your environment.

### Does postmakr store my Claude credentials?

No. postmakr never stores keys from your AI provider. Claude works through your own account, and postmakr only knows the workspace access.

### Can I use several workspaces?

Yes. If you have access to several workspaces, simply tell Claude which brand to work on.

### What does it cost?

postmakr is free during the beta. For Claude Code you use your own Claude subscription, so you don't pay for AI twice.

## No access yet?

Enter your email address on the home page and we'll get back to you with your access and set up your workspace together with you. The beta is free.
